Our mini-honeymoon

So after getting married we decided we needed a few nights to get away from home.
Bob and Debbie were so nice to take Zukey to their cabin while Austin and I headed to a resort up north.
It was absolutely perfect.
Our room was decorated beautifully, there was sparkling cider and the food was to die for.
So when we got there we enjoyed some alone time and then headed to dinner.
I treated myself to a filet mignon and Austin had a rib eye steak.
The food was beyond wonderful.
Once back in the room we ordered some delicious desserts, melting lava cakes with ice cream (my absolute favorite) and chowed down!
We had a wonderful night.
The next morning we enjoyed some pool/jacuzzi time and a delicious breakfast.
In the late afternoon we headed to the cabin and met up with Bob, Debbie and our puppy!
The weather was wonderful and the weekend was full of relaxation, yummy food and fishing.
We explored and played in some creek, found a tire swing and had a picnic in a meadow.
Our long weekend went perfectly.
Our adventures as a married couple have been so much fun and I am working really hard at busting out my camera more often to capture more moments!
Be on the lookout for those :)

04.14.2011

I don't even know how to start this post.....
How do I just come out and say it?
We're MARRIED!
did that work?
oh, so now I guess I should explain a little
and for those of those who think I am kidding, (ahem Brent), I will also post pictures.
As most of you know, Austin and I have been together for almost 4 years now...
Crazy, fun, exciting, not-so-exciting, years.
After many, many trials we finally got engaged in December 2010.
We had originally planned an April 2011 wedding but due to scheduling conflicts... aka my finals
we decided to postpone until October 2011.
Long story short about 3 weeks ago, Austin and I were just chatting when we came to the conclusion that we should just "get married" so I took the ran with the idea and started planning everything that weekend.
Well... everything just fell into place, I didn't have class, my boss had to go out of town and everyone's schedule fit perfectly to our needs.
We picked 04.14.2011, a Thursday evening at 8pm in downtown Gilbert, Arizona.
Cozy weddings of Gilbert was the place, and it was just that, cozy.
We got our marriage license Tuesday.
I got my dress Wednesday night ( Macy's Prom Dress haha) and cute shoes.
Aubrey, Missy, Brit and Debbie threw me and awesome last minute bachelorette party.
Lori, Brandi, Janey, Chelsea were there too :)
Thursday I spent the day with Austin, getting ready and getting excited.
Lori and Dusty took us out to dinner that night.
( I ate too much, I'm surprised my dress fit!)
We went straight to the wedding location.
Everything was set up.
Bob and Debbie met us there.
We snuck Brandi in (the limit was 4 guests)
1 hour later.
I became Mrs. Garrard
I am more in love with Austin everyday and life has been absolutely perfect.
We are still having our big ceremony and reception in October.
I love being married to my best friend.

I'm such a slacker

I really love to read blogs and I love when I have a new post to share but lately I haven't been feeling up to the blogging, I want to, don't get me wrong, but I just don't know where to start. My life has been quite a whirlwind these past few weeks and I feel like I have a lot to post about... I just don't quite know how to put in in words. So give me a few days to get through finals and this insane semester... and I will be back with really exciting news to share :)
I love you all!

for now, here is me and my Zukey poo

Sedona

I know, I know... I am still talking about Spring Break with my Sis!
We did so much and I have so many pictures that I can't put them all up in one post.
So bear with me :)
On our way back from the Grand Canyon we decided it would be fun to stop in Sedona
We were kind of tired but Alma fell in love with the red rock that we just couldn't pass it up.
So our beloved driver, Austin, took a little detour and brought us to a beautiful location.
We didn't really want to hike too much so we drove to a nice little open place where we could walk around and take pictures.
Zuke loved chasing lizards and as tired as he was, he kept running around and playing.
My sister is an amazing photographer and she really captured some incredible still shots.
It is so fun to look at all of them and I just can't decide on my favorites so I did my best to narrow it down and not bombard everyone with a ton of pictures!
I miss my sister like crazy and I wish she was here with me all the time....
although knowing our shopping habits I'd be broke in no time!
